Sara Dronet

Hi everyone!  My name is Sara Dronet and I am currently a sophomore majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Marketing.  I was born and raised in Lafayette,  so when I made the decision to come to school at UL, my major concern was college being a continuation of high school.  I was extremely involved at my high school and I knew that I wanted to gain everything out of the college experience that I could right away.

My freshman year here I tried out and became a member of the Ragin’ Jazz dance team.  I also pledged Delta Delta Delta sorority my freshman year.  I immediately became friends with new individuals and quickly saw my college life take a completely new road.  Joining a sorority opened up the doors to so many campus wide activities as well as brought along a group of girls that have become true sisters for me.  While on the Ragin’ Jazz I was able to perform at the first saints game of the season, travel to Disney World for college nationals where our team placed in the top 10 in the nation, and also cheer on our Ragin’ Cajuns at numerous events.

After my first semester, I also became a member of the Student Orientation Staff.  Being a part of this staff brought about a new family, a better understanding for my University, and a love for all of the traditions that we have on this campus.  We all traveled as a team to an orientation conference where we were able to develop unbreakable bonds and learn even more about the orientation process.

I am now currently a member of the Leadership Team for the newly implemented S.O.U.L. Camp offered to first time freshman.  I am extremely excited to be able to have another way to connect with students who are entering the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for the first time.  I am also a member of PRSSA and the Honors College.

I never thought that my college experience would transform so quickly into what it has become.  I love everything about our university and could not imagine myself wearing anything but Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns.

In the future, I plan on attending graduate school with a focus on Communications.  I feel that this University has offered me so much thus far.  Every organization that I have become a part of already has helped me develop skills for my future career path. I grew up a Ragin’ Cajun and have a long built love for this University that only continues to flourish.
