    Student Organization Division

     

    Membership Development Award - SOUL Camp

    (Program to educate and engage members within the organization)

    This award recognizes a student-driven membership development program that has been held in the past academic year (2010-2011). Awarded to the organization with the most outstanding membership development program. Resources (people, time, funds, materials, etc.) were utilized effectively in the development and implementation of the program. The primary producers of the program were students.

     

    Outstanding Academic/Educational Program of the Year - National Society of Black Engineers Career Fair Workshop.
    Awarded to an organization with a program focused on a specific discipline or topic to further knowledge in that area and encouraged dialogue and learning among attendees. Resources (people, time, funds, materials, etc.) were utilized effectively in the development and implementation of the program. The program was widely publicized. The primary producers of the program were students.  

     

    Outstanding Diversity/Multicultural Program of the Year - SOUL Camp

    This award recognizes a student-driven diversity/multicultural program that has been held in the past academic year (2010-2011). The program was dedicated to building positive interaction amongst cultures; promoted awareness of cultures and global issues through student engagement; and provided opportunities for students to learn about the importance of diversity and multiculturalism. Resources (people, time, funds, materials, etc.) were utilized effectively in the development and implementation of the program. The program was widely publicized. The primary producers of the program were students. 

     


    Outstanding Philanthropic Program of the Year
     - Up 'til Dawn                                          
    The program should exemplify the dedication and financial contributions directed towards the welfare of those in need.  Focus is on a program that contributed dollars to an agency. The primary producers of the program were students.  This program could be a series event, or occur one time.  Nominations should be supported by the agency being benefited.  

     

    Outstanding Service/Volunteer Program of the Year - Americorps

    Resources (people, materials, creativity, etc.) were utilized effectively in the development and implementation of the program. The program was widely publicized. The primary producers of the program were students. The program will have demonstrated the commitment of the organization to community service. Primary focus is on service hours not monetary donations. Nominations should be support by the agency being benefited.

     

    Marketing/Recruitment Award - SOUL Camp - watch the video

    This award recognizes an organization that used print, website, and social media to promote the organization and its events. 

     

    New Student Organization of the Year - Residence Hall Association

    Will be awarded to a new student organization that has made strides in recruiting, retention, and completing organization goals.

     

    Student Organization of the Year - Americorps

    The University Student Organization Committee will select organization of the year based on applications submitted.

    People’s Choice Award - SOUL Camp (this award will be discontinued in 2012)

    All student organizations get to vote on student organization's choice award. An email will be sent to organization presidents with details on voting procedures. Award will be presented at Ragin' Recognition.   

     

    College Coin War Champion - College of Liberal Arts
    Awarded to the college that raised the most money to save the library’s electronic databases. This program was sponsored by Student Leadership Council.

    Outstanding Freshman Award - Brittany Michelle Labbie

    Awarded to a freshman who has had the most positive impact in leading the organization toward its goal.

     

    Outstanding Sophomore Award - Lindsey LeJeune
    Awarded to the sophomore who has had the most positive impact in leading the organization toward its goal.

     

    Outstanding Junior Award - Jebby Soignier
    Awarded to the junior who has had the most positive impact in leading the organization toward its goal.

     

    Outstanding Senior Award - Candice Dazet
    Awarded to the senior who has had the most positive impact in leading the organization toward its goal.

     

    Outstanding Organization Advisor (Faculty/Staff) - Paul Eaton, Student Orientation and SOUL Camp

    Awarded to an organization advisor that creates a supportive environment for the leaders they work with. The recipient is an example of how an advisor is instrumental in helping members grow, learn, develop, and mature.

     

    Community Partnership Award - Izzo's Burrito

    This award recognizes an important community business, sponsor, or agency that contributed to the success of an organization during the academic year.  Student organizations may submit a nomination detailing how the organization contributed to the success of a project or event, or describe how a community partner worked with the organization throughout the academic year to help the student organization achieve its goals.

     

    President's Leadership Award - Tyler Dunphy
    This award acknowledges the contributions made by students who play a significant role in improving and developing the intellectual, social, cultural and/or athletic fabric of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette community. Awardees exemplify academic performance, extra-curricular achievement, and service to the University. The award will be presented by the University President on the basis of how the nominees' achievements have contributed to the betterment of the University community. The Selection Committee may present more than one award annually.
